5 common ERRORS in Spanish and English

En español siempre cometéis los mismos errores.
Spanish speakers always seem to be making the same common mistakes when speaking English

Bienvenidos a los errores más comunes del español ...and in English!

Estar de acuerdo VS To agree

- So you don´t agree with what i´ve said

Well in English we would say I don´t agree or I disagree or I agree. Not ´I am` agree. We don´t use the verb to be.

Coger VS Catch

In English we use the word ´catch` for numerous things, for example. To catch some transport, to catch a ball or an object that is being thrown. Or to catch a cold or a virus. Whereas in Spanish…

Too much! So yes in English you have to stick with using it for these things.

Saucy is the word you´re looking for. Saucy is sexy.

Tener años VS To be x

- Yinka
- Yes, Laura
- ¿Cuántos años tienes?
- Me! What do you think?
- Treinta y cinco (35)
- No, I am twenty-nine 29 years old

Ella tiene...tiene una edad
Whereas in English we use the verb to be. I am 29 years old or you are 35 years old.

Vez/Hora VS Time(S)

- Laura, what time is it?

Five times. I´ve asked her five times what the time is.
Veces VS Hora
In English time and times.

Ecantar VS to love a lot

Whereas in English, yes. You can  say I love something a lot or I hate something a lot.

We would say I hate something a lot or I really hate something.
